Arteta on Eze

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta hailed the performance of midfielder Eberechi Eze following the 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Eze netted a sensational hat-trick in the reverse fixture against Spurs in November. He was reinstated into the starting XI today and replicated a similar performance in the north London derby.

The Englishman netted a sublime brace with a goal in either half. Viktor Gyokeres was adjudged the man of the match, but Eze was equally good for the Gunners in a dominating performance at Spurs.

Speaking after the game, Arteta praised Eze saying: “He had that belief and I’m really happy with him. He’s really trying to mold and adapt into what we want from him.”

The Gunners have gone five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the league standings with the victory, but the Cityzens have a game in hand against Crystal Palace yet to be rescheduled.

Arsenal have no time to ponder over the victory, given they have another tough London derby against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium next weekend.
