Recap: PSG Salvages Draw with Late Goal Against Clermont

Less than 15 minutes into the contest, PSG had to make a change after Nordi Mukiele left the game after colliding with Massamba Ndiaye. The Parisians generated seven total shots in the first half, but Clermont opened the scoring.

Les Lanciers had four total shots in the first 45 minutes and one of them found the back of the net as Habib Keïta opened the scoring. Right before halftime, Senny Mayulu leveled the scoring 1-1, but after a VAR check, it was waived off due to a foul leading up to the goal.

In the final 45 minutes, PSG registered 15 total shots as they searched for the game-tying goal. Late in the second half, the Parisians found the equalizing goal thanks to a goal from Gonçalo Ramos in the 85th minute.

PSG will now turn its attention to FC Barcelona for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie. The Spanish team will be traveling to the French capital for the clash on Wednesday.

The draw is a tough blow for Clermont because they were so close to grabbing three crucial points to help them in their fight against relegation. Pascal Gastien and his team are now trailing FC Lorient by five points for the relegation playoff spot.

Clermont will host Montpellier next weekend in one of their final six matches of the season as they strive to stay in Ligue 1.
