Following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic criticized the decision not to award a penalty to Karim Adeyemi following a challenge from Edmond Tapsoba.

Daniel Siebert, who officiated the game, has since explained the decision in an interview with Bild.

“The contact on Adeyemi’s right thigh was so minimal that it did not cause the fall. So it wasn’t a dive, but it wasn’t a penalty-worthy foul either,” Siebert told the German tabloid.

” I can understand it from his point of view in this particular case. But you have to look at it in the context of the whole game.

“If I don’t give a penalty for Leverkusen in a similar situation between Can and Palacios, I won’t do it on the other side either. That’s why I can’t understand the coach’s comments.”
