Reims Bounce Back: Daramy Inspires Victory

Led by the exceptional Danish sensation Mohamed Daramy, Stade de Reims showcased their prowess on the field, ultimately clinching their 15th win in the 2023 calendar year – a feat not achieved by them since 1976 when they won 16.

Daramy, a standout player in the game, demonstrated his brilliance early on by setting up Amir Richardson’s goal with a precise cross in the 10th minute. Later, his relentless determination resulted in a goal-scoring opportunity, with his shot deflecting off Strasbourg’s Lucas Perrin, who inadvertently turned into his own net just before halftime.

Despite a late penalty conversion by Strasbourg’s Kevin Gameiro in the 86th minute, courtesy of a foul committed by Reims’ Thibault de Smet, Reims held their ground, securing a triumphant return to winning ways. This victory not only moved Reims into fifth spot in the league table but also reinforced their ambitions for a spot in the European places.

Looking ahead, Reims now prepare to face Nice on December 10th, while Strasbourg braces for their next challenge against Brest on December 7th. This win signifies a pivotal moment for Reims as they continue their quest for success in Ligue 1 under the guidance of Belgian coach Will Still.
