Report: Athletic Club prefer Bayern to Barcelona for Nico Williams sale

According to a report from Spain, Athletic Club would rather sell Nico Williams to Bayern Munich than to FC Barcelona.

Reports have suggested that Nico Williams has agreed to join FC Barcelona instead of Bayern Munich.

However, financial challenges could hinder Barcelona’s chances of sealing the deal.

According to Spanish publication AS, Athletic Club would prefer to sell Williams to Bayern rather than Barcelona.

As a result, they are demanding that Barcelona pay the player’s release clause – reportedly set at €58 million – in a single payment, while showing more flexibility with Bayern.

Meanwhile, it was reported over the weekend that Bayern submitted a new offer to Williams, remaining hopeful that his move to Barcelona will collapse due to the Catalan club’s financial difficulties.

According to Sport, however, Barcelona remain confident they can complete the deal.
