Report: Could Dortmund snap up Sancho for free next summer?

Could the wide playmaker be set for his third return to the Westfalenstadion next summer?

Borussia Dortmund fans were left disappointed this summer when the club didn’t make Jadon Sancho an offer – but perhaps there’s another twist in this saga to come? 

Sancho could indeed return to BVB on a free transfer next summer. Manchester United supposedly has no plans to extend the English winger’s contract.

According to information from TeamTalk, drastic steps are ahead for the Red Devils. If Sancho’s contract ends, he can leave on a free during next summer’s transfer window. 

Should this decision be made, it would potentially make the 25-year-old attacking player one of the key transfer transfer targets in Europe given his free agent status. 

There remains only one possible route that could deny the Westphalians from re-signing their man – Aston Villa could buy him if he impresses during his current loan spell. 

Sancho’s return would mark his third stint at BVB – he represented the club between 2017-21 before joining Man United and also had a six month loan spell which started in January 2024.
