Since Marco Rose was dismissed as RB Leipzig head coach at the end of March, the club have been searching for a long-term successor. Now, one of their top candidates has reportedly ruled himself out of the running.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Cesc Fàbregas has turned down interest from Die Roten Bullen, opting instead to continue his project with Italian side Como, where he is already planning for next season.

The other leading name on Leipzig’s shortlist is Oliver Glasner, currently under contract with Crystal Palace. However, bringing the 50-year-old former Eintracht Frankfurt coach back to Germany could prove difficult, especially as his deal with the Premier League side does not include a release clause.

Meanwhile, interim coach Zsolt Löw has made it clear that he has no intention of taking the role permanently. Speaking to Sport Bild, he stated:

“There’s a very clear agreement with Marcel Schäfer (managing director for sport). I’m here to give the team a new push for the season’s final stretch. After that, I’m going on a well-deserved vacation.”
