A Bola claim that Juventus and FC Porto have agreed an exchange deal, as Alberto Carlos can swap places with Joao Mario plus €6m in cash.

There had been reports that the two clubs were in intensive negotiations for this dual transfer and this evening there are suggestions it is down to the final details.

A Bola maintain FC Porto will pay €15m in cash plus a further €1m in bonuses, while Joao Mario is valued at €10m.

That means Juventus will receive Joao Mario along with up to €6m in additional fresh funds.

The Bianconeri had only signed Alberto Costa from Vitoria Guimaraes in January for €13.8m and he made just 14 competitive appearances, contributing three assists from right-back.

He had also been of interest to Sporting CP, but FC Porto appear to have got there first.

Joao Mario is also a right-back, but slightly older at 25, and a product of the FC Porto youth academy who progressed to the senior squad in 2020.

He played in 42 games for the club last season, providing seven assists for his teammates.
