Munich’s “TZ” report that Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany has decided to spare Min-jae Kim for the remaining games of the 2024/25 season due to his ongoing injury problems.

Kim is supposed to use this time to rest and get back in shape for the club world cup, which starts on June 14th.

The 28-year-old has been plagued by achilles tendinitis and foot problems for several months now; since Dayot Upamecano has also been missing due to injury, Kompany was recently relying on Eric Dier and Josip Stanišić for the central defense.

The future for the the South Korean international at Bayern Munich is meanwhile still at doubt – a sale in the summer is not ruled out. Bayern have reportedly been interested in several centre-backs for the upcoming season, namely Jonathan Tah and Dean Huijsen.
