German footballing legend Marco Reus’ move to America’s MLS has been officially confirmed. 

Marco Reus’ officially completed his move to LA Galaxy of America’s MLS on Thursday evening. The 35-year-old German footballing legend signed a contract with the California outfit good through December of 2026. Reus closed his BVB chapter after 12 seasons at the conclusion of the 2023/24 Bundesliga campaign. He departs German football having won two DFB Pokals (2017 and 2021) and three DFL Supercups (2014, 2015, and 2020). 

“Marco Reus is a world-class player who has excelled at the highest level of the sport, including in two Champions League finals for Borussia Dortmund,” Galaxy General Manager Will Kuntz noted in a club statement ”Marco joining Galaxy after playing his entire career in Germany is a testament to the project we are continuously building at the club.”

Galaxy head-coach Gregg Varney added that Reus was a “proven leader who will integrate seamlessly into the group due to his talent and the ability to read the game.” Reus himself spoke in German on a video released on the club’s X feed in which he declared himself “excited to be joining the club” and “eager to get to know my new teammates.”
