Statistics have outlined just how bad Manchester City‘s current form really is.
City are used to winning the vast majority of their games but in an unexpected turn of events they have now lost their last five successive matches across all competitions.
The latest defeat for Pep Guardiola‘s side came on Saturday as they lost 4-0 at home to Tottenham in the Premier League.
City were also beaten by Tottenham in the Carabao Cup last month and subsequently suffered losses against Bournemouth, Sporting and Brighton.
City last lost six games in all competitions in April 2006, while they last lost seven in a row in December 1960, which is their longest losing run.
Data from Stats Perform shows that City have had an expected goals total of 9.79 in their last five games compared to 29.96 in their first 14 games of the campaign.

In addition, City have scored 0.80 goals per game across their last four matches compared to 2.29 per game in their first 14 matches.
City have also been vulnerable at the other end of the pitch – they have conceded an average of 2.80 goals per game in their last four matches, whereas they let in only 0.79 goals per game in the 14 matches that preceded that.
City have found it difficult to both create chances and score in recent matches
Furthermore, City’s expected goals against for the last four games stands at 2.12 per game compared to 0.83 per game in their first 14 matches.
During this run City have had an average of just 4.80 shots on target per game, whereas previously they averaged 7.29 shots on target per game.
City are back in action on Tuesday night when they host Feyenoord in the Champions League.
Guardiola’s team will then face Premier League leaders Liverpool away on Sunday.
