Jurgen Klopp‘s incredible success at Liverpool was achieved despite having the lowest net spend of the Premier League‘s ‘Big Six’ clubs.
The German boss sensationally announced on Friday that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
Klopp will bring an end to a glittering nine-year spell on Merseyside.
The 56-year-old led Liverpool to a first Premier League title in 30 years back in 2020, as well as delivering a sixth European Cup the previous season.
Liverpool’s success under Klopp, which included an FA Cup and Carabao Cup, was achieved with an overall net spend of £254million.

The Liverpool boss has been backed with a series of major signings during his time in charge of the club.
This included the club record £85m signing of Darwin Nunez and the £60m summer arrival of Dominik Szoboszlai.
Klopp’s signings of Virgil van Dijk and Alisson for £75m and £66m respectively were both viewed as transformative to turning the Reds into a title challenging outfit.
In total, the Liverpool boss has spent £807m on players during his time in charge.
The Reds, however, recouped significant funds, particularly the £140m sale of Philippe Coutinho.
Klopp’s overall net spend has been dwarfed by Liverpool’s rivals, with reigning champions Man City having spent £692.3m from 2015 to 2024.
Liverpool have largely been Man City’s biggest domestic rivals during the period, with the Citizens having won five Premier League titles and completed a famous Treble last season.

Arch rivals Manchester United have a net spend of £888m over nine years, while Arsenal and Chelsea have totalled £696.2m and £835.7m respectively.
Tottenham are the only other member of the established Big Six to have spent less than a billion on transfers during Klopp’s reign.
Spurs, who were beaten by Liverpool in the 2019 Champions League final, still surpass Klopp’s net spend.
The North London side, who have failed to win a trophy during the period, have a net spend totalling £484m.
