Manchester United’s latest signing Patrick Dorgu is reportedly one of the lowest-paid players in the club.

The Red Devils announced the Denmark international’s £29.4million signing from Lecce on Sunday, and the player agreed to a five-and-a-half-year contract.

Man United were eager to bolster their left flank, showing interest in Paris Saint-Germain‘s Nuno Mendes and Bournemouth‘s Milos Kerkez throughout the last weeks.

Considering Luke Shaw‘s physical problems, as he only played 98 minutes this season, the Red Devils have focused on bringing the emerging talent from Lecce, who could also feature as a right winger.

He already made his senior international debut for Denmark in September, marking his first game with a goal of only 42 seconds after appearing on the pitch against Switzerland.

However, according to The Athletic, the 20-year-old is one of the lowest-paid players at Man United with a weekly wage of £40,000 – even lower than unregular starter Jonny Evans or reserve goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

Due to the lack of a full-fit left back, Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui have been forced to cover the position throughout the last few months.

However, now Dorgu will compete with Luke Shaw, who has returned to training with the group and is also one of the best-paid players at Old Trafford £150,000 per week.

Marcus Rashford – who completed his move to Aston Villa, which are understood to cover 70 per cent of his salary – was the third best-paid athlete in the team, with a weekly wage of £300,000.

Real Betis loanee Antony was reportedly earning £200,000 weekly. The LaLiga side will reportedly cover approximately 84 per cent of the Brazilian’s salary.

Casemiro tops the list with £350,000 and has a year left on his contract, but he is followed by captain Bruno Fernandes, who earns £300,000 per week.

Dorgu will have a chance to debut in the next Premier League game against Leicester at the Old Trafford on Friday.

The youngster was spotted at the home stadium on Sunday during United’s 2-0 defeat by Crystal Palace.
