Jamie Vardy‘s latest bizarre pre-match method has been revealed.
The veteran forward, now 37, has shown no signs of slowing up in recent years and has already provided six goals and three assists in the Premier League this season.
Vardy’s unique methods are no secret – with his pre-match meal being a topic of interest since he broke onto the scene – but now a new one has been revealed.
According to The Telegraph, Vardy has been known to teach himself choice insults in the native language of the centre-backs marking him.
Though we’re yet to see Vardy utilise his new-found skills, there can be no doubt that the Foxes captain will be eager to show it off at the earliest opportunity.
The news should hardly come as a shock to English football fans, who will have become well aware of the way Vardy likes to troll rival players and fans alike.
Veteran forward Jamie Vardy has added a new trick to his playbook, according to reports
It’s claimed Vardy has been learning choice insults in the native language of the centre-backs marking him
At the start of the season, Vardy brutally trolled Spurs fans after he was substituted during their 1-1 draw, having scored the crucial equalising goal.
As Vardy left the pitch he couldn’t help himself and decided to taunt the away support for their lack of a Premier League title.
After handing the captain’s armband to team-mate Harry Winks, Vardy took the opportunity to turn to the Spurs fans before heading off the pitch.
He first points at the Premier League badge on the sleeve of his shirt before pointing to himself and then raising one finger to indicate his title win in the 2015-16 season.
The striker then points back to the badge before aiming his finger in the direction of the Spurs fans and motioning the number zero, highlighting the fact Tottenham are still yet to win a Premier League title.
The report also claims that Vardy’s pre-match routine remains unchanged. It consists of three Red Bulls throughout the day as well as a cheese and ham omelette.
As the Foxes came out for the second period, cameras caught Vardy taking on some extra fuel in the tunnel in the form of his much-loved Red Bull, and within 12 minutes he’d headed home the equaliser.
The 37-year-old has managed to score six goals and provide three assists in the league
His love of the popular energy drink is well-documented, having previously been seen drinking from a can just before scoring his 100th Premier League goal after turning 30 against Wolves back in 2022.
He famously told Sky Sports back in 2022 all about his fondness for Red Bull in their ‘Making it Pro’ feature, saying: ‘I wake up in the morning and then [have a] Red Bull.
‘Literally I get out of bed, get the kids up and downstairs, get their breakfast sorted and then I’m straight into the Red Bull.
‘After that we meet at the stadium for pre-match and while I’m getting changed I’ll have a coffee – it’s better than taking ProPlus. Red Bull, coffee and then when we get over to the pre-match lounge, I’ll have my cheese and ham omelette with another can of Red Bull.’
