Revealed: The ‘FIVE Premier League clubs able to trigger Serhou Guirassy’s £60m release clause’ this summer

Five of the Premier League‘s big six could sign one of Europe’s top marksman Serhou Guirassy for just £60million this summer, reports in Germany claim.

The Guinea star has been among the continent’s deadliest striker’s for a few seasons and has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United. This term, after battling through a slow start, the 29-year-old has netted 33 goals in 43 matches for Borussia Dortmund. 

This prolific form has attracted interest from a number of top clubs, including Champions League finalists Paris Saint-Germain. But unfortunately for the French giants, their name is not among the list of sides that could nab the striker for a reduced fee. 

According to German outlet Bild, Premier League sides United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal as well as LaLiga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are able to trigger a €70m (£60m) release clause in his contract.

Guirassy, whose deal at the Westfalenstadion expires in 2028, moved to Dortmund for just £15m last summer after netting 30 goals in 30 games in his final season with Stuttgart. 

According to Bild, Dortmund are said to be confident that he striker will remain with the club, with managing director Lars Ricken explaining that after showing a clear desire to join the club, the player wouldn’t ‘just leave after a year!’

Though the threat of a monied Premier League club swooping in at the 11th hour is sure to trouble some at the Ruhr club. A number of the league’s top sides are in the hunt for a central striker this summer in a market that is lacking in talent. 

The likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak, Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko have all been linked with transfers but with concerns over the suitability and cost of all the forwards to varying degrees, Guirassy may become a more attractive proposition as the window draws to a close.

In December 2023, after being extensively linked with a move to Old Trafford, reports claimed that Guirassy had turned down a move to United in favour of pursuing one to Tottenham.

Then boss Erik ten Hag was keen to provide support to his big-money signing Rasmus Hojlund, who was yet to find the back of the net domestically.

Eighteen months on, the Red Devils are even more desperate for forward reinforcements, having seen the arrival of Joshua Zirkzee do little to ease their goalscoring issues. 

In March, according to Sky Germany, Guirassy was not on a four-man shortlist that included Gyokeres, Osimhen, Sesko and young Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike.
