Ricken shuts down Gittens exit rumors: “Not true”

Borussia Dortmund boss Lars Ricken has denied speculation that Jamie Gittens has told the club he wants to leave.

According to a recent report from Sky Germany, Jamie Gittens has expressed his desire to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.

However, board member for sport Lars Ricken dismissed the claim in an interview with DAZN ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s 4-0 defeat to FC Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday.

“I can say this very clearly: it’s not true,” Ricken stated, before adding:

“He has been with us since his youth days. There is a lot of trust between us. He identifies 100 percent with BVB.”

After coming off the bench four games in a row, Gittens was back in the starting lineup for Wednesday’s loss to FC Barcelona.
