The fact that Alejandro Grimaldo wants to play in the Spanish La Liga before the end of his career is of no worry to Bayer Leverkusen managing director for sport Simon Rolfes.

Bayer Leverkusen star Alejandro Grimaldo has admitted that he would like to return to his native Spain at some point in the future.

But the club’s managing director for sport, Simon Rolfes, is not worried about losing the 28-year-old any time soon, telling Kicker that “in the future” is a very broad term.

“The fact that he wants to play in his home country again in his career is not dramatic. Many players who are currently playing abroad have this desire,” Rolfes said, adding:

“We are 100 percent planning with him for next season.”

Grimaldo joined Leverkusen on a free transfer from Benfica last summer and is enjoying a sensational first season in Germany.

So far, he has made 44 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, scoring 11 goals and providing 16 assists.
