Roma hopeful for George from Chelsea on September 1, but cool on Gimenez-Dovbyk swap

There are growing reports Roma are hopeful of securing Tyrique George from Chelsea on deadline day, but talks for the Santiago Gimenez-Artem Dovbyk swap with Milan cooled again.

We are already into the final 24 hours of the summer transfer session and the Giallorossi still have a lot up in the air.

The search for an attacking wide man had got stuck on Jadon Sancho, but after it became clear he had no intention of coming to the Stadio Olimpico, they abandoned the Manchester United outcast.

Roma still working on George, but less eager for Gimenez

Their next target is George and Sky Sport Italia claim that negotiations are progressing over the last few hours, hoping to get a deal over the line in time with Chelsea before the deadline.
