Roma have seen an initial €20m plus bonuses offer for Flamengo full-back Wesley rejected, while their bid to RC Lens for Neil El Aynaoui should start at €25m including add-ons.

It is no secret that the Giallorossi have to complete their transfer strategy within some very strict financial parameters, so they are forced to reach their targets in increments.

That makes for a frustrating process for their fans and some of the players who are eager to join Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.

They include Wesley, who as previously reported has a firm asking price of €25m plus bonuses.

With that in mind, it is no surprise that Sky Sport Italia report this evening the first formal offer of €20m plus add-ons was rejected by Flamengo, but the negotiations continue.

The same source also now suggests that another proposal is being prepared to RC Lens for midfielder El Aynaoui.

This will be €22m plus another €3m in bonuses, taking the total to considerably short of the €30m asking price, so again it is unlikely to be accepted straight away.
