The Denmark international is expected to join Ruben Amorim’s side before Deadline Day and he will become Man Utd’s first signing of the 2025 January transfer window.

The Red Devils have been chasing Dorgu for several months and talks have ramped up over the past few weeks as Amorim pushes to bring a new wing-back to Old Trafford amid the club’s poor recent form.

Man Utd are currently 12th in the Premier League table and they have lost seven of Amorim’s 17 games in charge since his arrival from Sporting CP back in November.

Dorgu has emerged as a key transfer target since the beginning of the January window and Man Utd have now reached an agreement with Lecce, according to Romano.

The transfer expert has confirmed that Man Utd will pay an initial fee of €30 million, plus an additional €5m in add-ons.

What have Lecce said?

Despite serious interest from Man Utd, Lecce president Sticchi Damiani recently reiterated his desire to retain Dorgu this month during an interview with Sky Sport Italia.

“There are a series of situations in progress to complete the squad,” he said (as per Football Italia).

“We are trying to resist, as is logical, because it is in our interest to keep the players who are protagonists of this group. So far, our idea is to not sell anyone in January.”

However, Dorgu looks set to join Man Utd before the January transfer window closes, with the Denmark star expected to play a key role at Old Trafford.
