The France youth international has decided to leave the Allianz Arena before the January transfer window closes and Tottenham have reached an agreement to sign the 19-year-old for a fee of €60 million.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are also interested in purchasing Tel before the end of Deadline Day, but Tottenham are now the firm frontrunners in the race for his signature.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are languishing down in 15th place in the Premier League table, having only won one of their last 11 matches in the competition, but Levy is determined to make a statement signing before Monday’s deadline.

Furthermore, Spurs’ chairman is now in Munich to discuss a move with Tel’s representatives, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer expert posted on X: “Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has arrived in Munich today in order to accelerate talks for Mathys Tel.

“Agreement already done with Bayern, face to face talks now with Tel and his agent.

Mathys Tel to join Tottenham

Tel has made 14 appearances in all competitions for Bayern so far this season, but he has only started four matches and he is yet to score his first goal of the campaign.

However, Tottenham are banking on his huge potential and are aiming to finalise a deal quickly in order to fight off competition from several other top Premier League teams.

FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal are interested in signing Tel amid an injury crisis at the Emirates Stadium, although it appears as though Tottenham are on the verge of winning the race for his signature.

Tel is set to become Spurs’ third-most expensive signing in history, behind Dominic Solanke and Tanguy Ndombele.
