Roy Keane slammed Tottenham for being ‘all over the shop’ against Manchester City on Sunday after conceding twice in the first half at the Etihad on Sunday.

Spurs took an early lead against the reigning Premier League champions after Son Heung-min rounded off a well-worked counter-attack with a strong finish.

He then scored again just two minutes later after turning the ball into his own net, before Phil Foden added a second goal 31st-minute to haul the hosts into a deserved lead.

Much had been made pre-match of Ange Postecoglou‘s high-pressing attack and how it could leave Tottenham’s defence vulnerable against City’s star-studded attack, and Keane was unimpressed by the defending on show from the visitors.

City went in at the break with a slim lead, but could have been further in-front after Jeremy Doku and Bernardo Silva were both denied by the woodwork, however, Spurs were also a threat when going forward.

Keane labelled Tottenham’s lamentable defending as ‘shocking’ and called on them to show more resilience in the second half.

‘City have been brilliant going forward but vulnerable at back, they are missing players, but from City it’s excellent,’ Keane said on Sky Sports.

‘Spurs are all over the place and ball watching, Foden takes a touch in the six-yard box and the second one puts it in.

‘As simple as you like but shocking from Spurs, really bad, they have trouble at back but against really good teams you get found out.

‘Spurs all over shop, City excellent but Spurs still have one or two more goals in them,’ he added.

Fellow pundit and former City full-back Micah Richards expressed similar concerns for Spurs in the second-half and stated his old club would feel disappointed to not be leading by more.

‘City will be very disappointed [not to be leading by more] it should have been five or six.

‘Especially Haaland’s chance. It’s normally bread and butter for him, you have to put teams away.’
