Ruben Amorim has already met some of his new players after arriving at Manchester United to take over as the new manager.
The Portuguese boss was appointed as the new head coach of the Red Devils in the wake of Erik ten Hag‘s departure from Old Trafford following a record poor start to the season.
The 39-year-old arrives from Sporting Clube de Portugal, where he won two league titles, and brings with him a number of backroom staff members from Lisbon.
As one of Europe’s most in-demand young coaches, United fans will be keen to see how quick the new boss can settle in at his new home, taking over from Ruud van Nistelrooy’s interim – and unbeaten – stewardship.
Though it is the international break, Amorim still had the chance to meet some of his new players for the first time, with those injured or unselected still at Carrington to introduce themselves to their new boss.

The new boss shared an embrace with Mason Mount with the former Chelsea midfielder not called up to the England squad
Kobbie Mainoo was another of the Red Devils’ stars not away on international duty this week
Amorim was pictured meeting United academy graduate and England star Kobbie Mainoo, who is out of the England squad as he recovers from injury.
The two shared a warm embrace, with the new boss smiling broadly from ear-to-ear as he met the teenager, who will surely play a huge role in his overhaul of the club as one of the side’s brightest young talents.
Fellow England internationals Luke Shaw and Mason Mount also received smiles and moments of their own with Amorim, who was pictured hugging the former Chelsea star.
Leny Yoro, who is only recently returned to United training following an injury picked up in pre-season, was snapped laughing along with the 39-year-old head coach.
And finally academy starlet Toby Collyer was also given an arm around the shoulder by Amorim, who was quick to introduce himself and put his charges at ease.
As ever with a new manager coming through the door, United’s stars will be keen to show Amorim what they can do to ingratiate themselves in the forefront of his plans.
Amorim has shown that he prefers a different system to that of Ten Hag, who regularly deployed a double pivot 4-2-3-1 formation towards the end of his time at Old Trafford.
His successor meanwhile is known to favour a 3-4-3, and with a change in shape and structure, that inevitably means some players will be given opportunities where before there were few – which of course means that the opposite is also true.

Former assistant manager Van Nistelrooy may have overseen an unbeaten transition following a stagnation of results under Ten Hag culminating in a 2-1 defeat by West Ham, but he has since left the club ahead of Amorim’s arrival.
Rene Hake, Ten Hag’s other No 2, goalkeeper coach Jelle ten Rouwelaar and performance analyst Pieter Morel have also been axed to make way for Amorim’s team.
A club statement read: ‘Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club.
‘Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend. We are grateful for his contribution and the way in which he has approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford.’
