Reports are swirling around this evening that Roma could fire director of sport Florent Ghisolfi and bring back Frederic Massara.

There were suggestions in recent weeks that Massara could be making a return to Serie A for Juventus, because he suddenly parted company with French side Stade Rennes after just a year in Ligue 1.

Before that, ‘Ricky’ had been sacked by Milan after four seasons, where he went along with Paolo Maldini in a total clear-out.

Most of his career was at Roma in various roles from 2011 to 2019, including two different stints as director of sport.

According to Matteo Moretto, Radio Sportiva and Retesport, Massara is now likely to head back to the Trigoria training ground for a new experience.

That would mean the removal of current director of sport Ghisolfi, who had only taken the job in 2024.

The French transfer expert had before that worked at RC Lens and OGC Nice.

Roma are in the middle of a revamp after the arrival of new coach Gian Piero Gasperini, with Claudio Ranieri remaining as a special advisor.
