While the expectation had been that the 32-year-old attacker would continue his career in Saudi Arabia should he leave Liverpool, his obvious wish, according to Masrawy, is to remain in Europe.

According to the report, PSG are now in pole position to land the Egyptian King. Barcelona have also previously been mentioned as an interested party given that they already tried to sign him in 2022.

Salah’s future has been a hot topic at Liverpool for some time now. The Anfield side attach great value to the presence of the club legend and would love to continue with him. Negotiations are said to be in full swing, but there is no agreement yet.

Salah reportedly only wants to extend if he can sign for three years. A requirement that makes it difficult for Liverpool to reach an agreement given his age.

Salah eyes PSG move

Salah’s situation has certainly attracted the interest of various parties. The 32-year-old has been linked several times with a lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia, while Barcelona are also closely following his contract situation.

The attacker is an interesting option for the Catalans due to his free transfer status. However, PSG now actually have the best credentials to secure the arrival of Salah, according to the above-mentioned report.

This latest development is a result of Salah’s wishes. The Liverpool winger wants to remain active at the highest level and play in the Champions League, which means that a transfer to Saudi Arabia is out of the question.

PSG’s financial might makes a move to Paris more likely than a Barcelona switch. That said, Salah is not opposed to the idea of staying at Liverpool.

The veteran is still worth his weight in gold to Liverpool this season. Salah has played sixteen times for the Scousers to date and has been involved in 18 goals, scoring nine times himself and providing nine assists.

Last weekend, he scored against Brighton and a few days later, on Tuesday, he was crucially important with two assists in the Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen.
