Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis’s brand new beachside home in Perth is rapidly taking shape and looks as though it could be complete later this year.
It’s been a busy few weeks for the footballers, who tied the knot in a stunning wedding in Perth’s Swan Valley on New Year’s Eve.
The happy couple danced into the night with their nearest and dearest at the luxurious Dionysus Villa, which is situated just a 30-minute drive north-east of Perth’s CBD.
Kerr and Mewis have since travelled back to London with their baby boy, Jagger, with the Aussie striker turning out for Chelsea during their 5-0 victory against West Ham on Sunday afternoon.
It’s been a rollercoaster year for the couple, who welcomed Jagger in May, before Kerr made her long-awaited return to the football pitch in September, having spent 634 days on the sidelines after rupturing her ACL during a training camp in 2024.
Earlier in the year, the couple had been pictured arriving in North Coogee in Perth, to inspect how construction work had been progressing on their new home.

Mewis and Kerr are understood to have bought a 200-square-metre plot of land just behind Perth’s South Beach back in August 2023.
The land is understood to have cost $940,000, and after two years of design and planning work, their bespoke new home is now taking shape.
Construction workers appear to have almost completed the first three floors of the property, which looks set to feature multiple floor-to-ceiling windows.
Situated approximately a 30-minute drive south of Perth’s CBD in one of Western Australia’s most sought-after suburbs, the new home is being built as part of a brand new boutique development and is only a couple of minutes’ walk from the beach.
The home is nestled behind multiple glamorous villas, and once complete, it appears the property will provide a sensational view of the ocean and the Success Boat Harbour to the north.
The property also backs onto a set of train tracks and is also a short walk away from the now-defunct South Beach railway station. It is understood that trains now only sparingly use the track.
Internally, the new residence will feature stone benchtops and SMEG appliances throughout.
Kerr’s Chelsea contract will expire at the end of the 2026 WSL season, with the Matildas captain having put pen to paper on a two-year extension back in 2024.

It remains to be seen whether the Australian will put pen to paper on a new deal, but the new development indicates that she and Mewis, who hails from America, could be planning to settle down in Kerr’s home state of Western Australia at some point in the future.
Mewis, who has played for West Ham and the US National Team, stunned last week during the couple’s wedding celebrations, wearing a glittery white corset that was complete with a transparent gown.
The Australian also looked suave, donning a black tuxedo with a white boutonniere affixed to her lapel. She and her son, Jagger, had worn matching outfits at the ceremony, with Kerr seen carrying her baby boy down the aisle.
Her dad, Roger, was seen carrying the toddler as she and Mewis recited their wedding vows.
Prior to the ceremony, Mewis said she was going to break down in tears when she saw Kerr and their baby boy walking down the aisle.
‘That is going to be gut-wrenching for me, I will sob when that happens,’ Kristie had told the Mewis Squared podcast.
At one point during the ceremony, Kerr was seen hoisting Mewis onto her shoulders as the pair danced with their guests. The couple beamed with delight and posed for pictures with their guests, who included some of Kerr’s Matildas team-mates and Mewis’s former US National Team colleagues.
Matildas stars Steph Catley, Caitlin Foord, Emily Van Egmond, Alanna Kennedy and Mackenzie Arnold all arrived at the ceremony to celebrate the happy couple.

Over 100 guests were seen toasting the happy couple in the front courtyard of the stunning Dionysus Villa.
RealEstate.com.au reporting that the Venetian-style manor house was sold in 2021 for between $2.78million and $3.24m.
The stunning villa, which was built in 1976, offered up a grand setting for what’s been dubbed ‘Australia’s sporting wedding of the year’, with guests mingling beneath the mansion’s grand pilasters and arches.
Kerr and Mewis are understood to have first met in 2019. The pair would go on to start dating and would announce their relationship publicly after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where Mewis’s USA side bested the Matildas in the third-place play-off.
The couple were engaged in 2023, with Mewis having also stood by Kerr throughout her high-profile court case in 2025, where the Chelsea striker was cleared of the racially aggravated harassment of a UK police officer.
During the trial, Kerr had revealed that the couple were expecting a baby boy and that they had plans to get married in December.
The couple would go on to welcome Jagger in May, and have been sharing insights into their lives as new parents on social media.
Kerr recently opened up about what it’s like being a new mum.

The happy couple would go on to welcome their first baby in May 2025 with Kerr having recently opened up on how much she’s enjoying being a new parent
‘It’s actually interesting – I don’t think it’s changed my perspective on football,’ Kerr said when asked, during an interview with CBA Newsroom, what it’s been like becoming a new parent.
‘I still love the game and I’m all in when I’m there. But it has changed my home life.
‘When I come home, I’m not watching clips of myself anymore.
‘I have better separation now, and it’s been healthy.’
