Scalvini on Chelsea wish list with 60m Atalanta asking price

After Newcastle United interest, there are now reports Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini is being targeted by Chelsea, but the asking price is €60m.

The Italy international has been hot property on the transfer market for a while and the Premier League is particularly intrigued by his promise.

Scalvini attractive to Premier League clubs

There had already been multiple sources suggesting Newcastle United were ready to swoop, but now Tuttomercatoweb claim that Chelsea are preparing a huge proposal.

It will need to be big to convince Atalanta, who have already sold Mateo Retegui and are in talks to sell Ademola Lookman to Inter for €45m plus add-ons.

The report points to a €60m asking price for the product of the Atalanta youth academy.

The 21-year-old had his career path stalled considerably by a serious knee injury, tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in June 2024, which forced him to miss the EURO 2024 tournament.

Just as he was making his return, Scalvini then dislocated his shoulder in December 2024 and needed surgery for that too.
