Gianluca Scamacca scored his first Serie A goal in over a year, but Atalanta began the Ivan Juric era with a disappointing draw against new boys Pisa.
La Dea made their competitive debut under new coach Juric, though Ademola Lookman was missing after trying to force through a transfer, with Ederson not fully fit, Sead Kolasinac and Mitchel Bakker injured. Alberto Gilardino’s Pisa had to do without injured Alexander Lind, Tomas Esteves, Henrik Meister, Isak Vural, Mateus Lusuardi and Francesco Coppola.
See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.

After suffering under an initial period of pressure, Pisa not only settled down, but took the lead when Samuele Angori knocked an Idrissa Toure cross back at the far post for Henrik Meister, only for Isak Hien to accidentally bundle it over his own line first.
Raoul Bellanova went to nod in a Nicola Zalewski cross at the far stick, denied by a decisive deflection off a Pisa defender.

Instead, Pisa nearly doubled their lead moments later when Marco Carnesecchi flew to palm a Moreo header out from under the crossbar on Angori’s cross.
Daniel Maldini lost his balance after trying to acrobatically control a Charles De Ketelaere ball over the top, but Scamacca drew Atalanta level after the restart.
The striker gathered from Mario Pasalic, took a touch to commit the defender and bent the finish into the far bottom corner with his right foot from 12 yards. It was his first Serie A goal in over 450 days, having torn his ACL in August 2024.
Suddenly it was all Atalanta, as Berat Djimsiti in an advanced role fired over when off balance after shaking off a defender, then Scamacca’s towering header thumped the crossbar.
Adrian Semper fingertipped a Bellanova header over from yet another Zalewski cross, but the goalkeeper stood his ground for a sensational save when Daniel Maldini sprung the offside trap to go one-on-one.
