Milan will be without several of their key first team players when they take on Como, who are also without the suspended Alvaro Morata, in Wednesday evening’s re-arranged Serie A tie.

This game had originally been scheduled to be played on February 8, during the 24th round of Serie A fixtures, but was postponed due to a clash with the opening ceremony of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, which revolved around San Siro.

For much of this season, there had been talks over a potential move to play this match in Perth, Australia, but this was later blocked by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in December.

In the end, the match was simply rearranged rather than relocated, and will kick off at 19.45 GMT on Wednesday evening.

Milan are hoping for a victory to move within five points of league leaders Inter at the top of the Serie A standings. They are coming in off the back of a 2-1 victory away against Pisa last time out.

Como, meanwhile, were dealt a surprise 2-1 blow by Fiorentina on Saturday but still sit in seventh place in the league table, six points off the top four. Cesc Fabregas’s side will leapfrog Atalanta into sixth if they win or draw this evening,

Milan are without Adrien Rabiot in midfield after being sent off at the end of the Pisa match on Friday evening, which means a potential opportunity for Ardon Jashari or Samuele Ricci, if not both, in midfield.

Christian Pulisic is a doubt and remains unlikely to start, but Rafael Leao could, and potentially alongside Ruben Loftus-Cheek according to Sky Sport Italia. Zachary Athekame is expected to keep his place at right wing-back in the absence of Alexis Saelemaekers.

Alvaro Morata was also sent off in his last match, which means that Tosas Douvikas is expected to lead the line for Como in San Siro on Wednesday night. Support is likely to be provided by the youthful but talented trio of Jesus Rodriguez, Nico Paz and Martin Baturina.
