Riccardo Sottil’s first-half goal was enough for Lecce to secure their first win this season, in an away game at Parma.

Serie A strugglers Lecce beat direct rivals Parma 1-0 at the Stadio Tardini on Saturday, securing their first victory in 2025-26.

Parma dominated possession, especially in the early phases.

Adrian Bernabé had the first chance in the game, but his shot from the edge of the box was wide of the near post.

Lecce replied with a tricky Medon Berisha free kick, which Mateo Pellegrino deflected to give the Salentini a corner kick.

Parma striker Patrick Cutrone sent his volley from inside the box wide of the near post, while Zion Suzuki denied Berisha’s close-range attempt.

Suzuki was not so reactive at minute 38 when Lecce took the lead with Sottil’s first goal this season. A cross from the left by the Italian winger went all the way across the box and entered at the far post, catching the Parma goalkeeper off guard.

The second half began with a poor Cutrone attempt from the edge of the box. Parma kept the ball possession for longer than Lecce, but the visitors seemed more dangerous with counter-attacks.

In the final minutes, Wladimiro Falcone produced a full-stretch fingertip save on Alessandro Circati, while Adrian Benedyczak did not find the big target with a header.

Lecce have now reached Parma and Torino outside the drop zone with five points in six games.
