Arne Slot has offered a Liverpool injury update ahead of this weekend’s epic showdown.
With the Reds slated to take on Man City in a top of the table clash, Liverpool have injury doubts over three of their players following the massive win over Real Madrid in the Champions League.
The first of those three men is their maestro of a right-back, and here Slot had a positive update: “Trent Alexander-Arnold is fit and ready to start against Man City.”
However, when it came to their defensive colossus Ibrahima Konate and their young right-back and the breakout superstar of that Madrid win, Conor Bradley, the outlook was less optimistic.

“Konaté and Bradley? They are still being assessed,” said Slot, “it’s difficult to see where they are in terms of the injury”.
Bradley was one of the standout performers as Liverpool beat Real Madrid 2-0. The Northern Irish international was a rugged and robust presence, standing up to Kylian Mbappe with heroic ferocity.
Bradley’s defending was so impressive no one was really talking about how he created the opening goal with a surprisingly deft assist. The 21 year-old’s night was only spoiled by having to go off injured in the 87th minute.
Meanwhile Konate was his typically robust self at the back, clattering into opponents and physically dominating them. He was in great pain at the final whistle, lying on the turf and needing to be helped to his feet as he limped off the field.
Both men would seem to be doubtful for the clash against Man City.
The Clash of the Titans
Liverpool vs. Man City has been the most important game in the English football calendar for the past seven years as these two clubs have set the standard of excellence that few have been able to match.
It used to be a duel between Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp, but now Arne Slot has taken over in a seamless transition of power at Anfield.

Meanwhile over at the Etihad, Man City are struggling. The four-years-in-a-row Premier League champions appear to have crashed head-on into the brick wall that is the end of their dominant cycle (with this core of players, anyway) and haven’t won in their last six games, losing five in a row.
They’re in bad shape, and Liverpool will be looking to vanquish them at Anfield on Sunday. A task made all the easier with Trent Alexander-Arnold back in the XI, but the absence of Ibrahima Konate could make dealing with Erling Haaland a problem.
However, as much as football can be fickle and Pep Guardiola’s genius should never be doubted, with the way Man City are defending right now it’s hard to see anything other than resounding Liverpool victory on Sunday.
