West Ham’s Tomas Soucek is the player whose transfer value has increased most significantly over the course of the last month, while Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Arsenal’s Kai Havertz also appear in the top 10 risers.
Soucek saw his value jump €10.71 million during the January transfer window. This leap can be explained by the midfielder’s decision to sign a new contract with the club that runs until 2027, an agreement that was announced on 1 January.
The Czech Republic international’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV), which calculates the most valuable footballers in the world using hundreds of in-game data points as well as external factors such as age and contract status, is now €29.7 million.
The other player to receive a boost of more than €10m on his ETV is striker Marcos Leonardo, who left Santos for Benfica. A player admired by Arsenal, the Portuguese side signed him for €18m and have subsequently seen his valuation jump to €18.5m, suggesting the Lisbon side got good value for their money.
Completing the top three is another Benfica player in the form of exciting prospect Joao Neves, who is being followed by a string of Premier League clubs. His ETV rose €9.94m to €29.9m.
