Spanish report links Dortmund with former wonderkid

A report from Spain claims that Borussia Dortmund are interested in Wolverhampton forward Fábio Silva, who spent last season on loan at Las Palmas.

Expectations were sky-high when Fábio Silva left FC Porto to join Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020 for a hefty €40 million fee.

However, the now 22-year-old has struggled to make a lasting impact at Molineux.

After limited success, he was sent out on loan four times – to Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven, Rangers, and most recently Las Palmas, where he showed promise with 10 goals in 24 La Liga appearances last season.

With just one year remaining on his contract, Silva is now being linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund.

According to Canary Islands outlet La Provincia, the Black and Yellows are showing interest in the Portuguese forward, who is said to be available for a fee in the region of €18 million.

Only time will tell if Dortmund push ahead with a move for the Portuguese striker, though it seems highly doubtful that they would invest such a fee in a player expected to play second fiddle to Serhou Guirassy.
