Stuttgart target extends PAOK contract until 2029

Stuttgart will have to look elsewhere in the transfer market now that their main target has extended his contract.

It appears the final nail has been hammered into the coffin regarding the possibility Giannis Konstantelias’ transfer to VfB Stuttgart.

A couple of days ago, it was reported that the 22-year-old was already en route to the airport as he prepared to join the Bundesliga side.

However, Konstantelias was blocked from traveling by PAOK and has since extended his contract at the club until 2029.

Sky Germany reports that the Swabians grew more and more skeptical in recent days and are now exploring alternative options.

“I am very happy that my relationship with PAOK and Mr. Ivan Savvidis has been renewed. It is something we all wanted.

“The truth is that, always with respect for the team, which for me is not just a team, but is my home; the thought of the next step in my career crossed my mind.

“Maybe at some point we had a little difficulty communicating, but these things can happen in a family,” said Konstantelias, on PAOK’s website.
