Super computer names Inter underdogs in 2025 Champions League Final against PSG

Inter are the underdogs in the Champions League Final against Paris Saint-Germain, according to the Opta Supercomputer, but some figures might be a good omen.

It kicks off in Munich on Saturday May 31 at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT, 21.00 CET).

It is remarkably the first ever competitive meeting between these teams, but both have made it to the Final recently and emerged defeated.

PSG lost to Bayern Munich in 2020 and the Nerazzurri were beaten by Manchester City in 2023.

Inter must upset odds again in Champions League Final

With their history and this season’s form too in mind, the Opta Supercomputer has calculated that Paris Saint-Germain have a 56.6 per cent probability of winning the trophy, compared to Inter’s 43.4 per cent.

Going over more than 10,000 simulations, the computer believes PSG have a 44.6 per cent probability of winning it within 90 minutes, whereas Inter’s chances are just 29 per cent in normal time.

However, it’s worth noting Simone Inzaghi’s men have befuddled the Opta Supercomputer already this season.

For example, after a 3-3 first leg semi-final draw with Barcelona, it gave Inter just a 44 per cent chance of going through – more or less the same as the prediction for this Final – but they won 7-6 on aggregate in extra time.

At the start of the Champions League, the same calculations figured Manchester City were the favourites to win the trophy on 25.3 per cent, followed by Real Madrid on 18.2 per cent and Inter just 10.9 per cent.
