‘Tare already knows who to sign and who to sell’ at AC Milan

Former Lazio midfielder Marco Parolo feels Igli Tare will bring ‘charisma, authority and a clear vision’ at Milan and ‘already knows who to sign and who to sell.’

The former Lazio director is on the verge of being appointed as the new Milan sporting director after months of talks with club executives and CEO Giorgio Furlani.

Parolo played at Lazio during Tare’s long tenure at the club. The former midfielder has now explained in an interview with Gazzetta what the Rossoneri fans should expect from the ex-Lazio director.

“If he goes to Milan, they’ll secure a professional who is eager to start again and return to the world of football,” Parolo said.

“He will be a real asset for the club. After studying and keeping himself up to date during these two seasons, he’ll be full of energy. He has broadened his horizons and gained experience by diving deeper into European football.”

“Charisma, authority and a clear vision,” the ex-midfielder replied.

“He seeks dialogue as he wants to understand the players and wants to know them also off the pitch. He uses the carrot and stick, but when he uses the stick, he really hits you hard. Above all, he treats everyone the same, including those with more experience. I remember he even argued with Klose and Luis Alberto when they did something he didn’t like.”

Tare signed many players under the radar during his tenure at Lazio, including Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Luis Alberto. How does he prepare for transfer windows?

“He watches a lot of videos and follows all the leagues,” Parolo said.

“At Lazio, before and during transfer windows, he would lock himself in a room every day with a match analyst to assess the traits of potential signings.”

Rafael Leao and Theo Hernandez face an uncertain future at the club. How will Tare deal with them when he’s appointed?

“He’ll surely have a conversation with them to clarify things. For him, the club always comes first,” Parolo concluded.

“If a player tries to put himself above anything else, he’s unlikely to get along with Tare or stay at the club. If I know him well, he already knows who to sign and who to sell.”
