Igli Tare has admitted he would be honoured to become Milan’s new sporting director, as he remains one of several candidates under consideration for a role on the Diavolo’s board.

It’s no secret that the Rossoneri are searching for a new figure to lead their sporting operations, with the current structure — led by technical director Geoffrey Moncada and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, officially an advisor to the club’s ownership — having failed to deliver the expected results.

Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani has been holding a series of meetings in recent weeks, evaluating various profiles, including Fabio Paratici and Tare, who previously held the sporting director role at Lazio.

Tare: Working for Milan a ‘target for everyone’

While Paratici has reportedly been ruled out after preliminary talks, Tare remains in the running, along with Bologna’s Giovanni Sartori and Atalanta’s Tony D’Amico.

Speaking to La Stampa, the former striker described a position at Milan as a career “target” and said it would be “an honour” to work for such a prestigious club.

“Milan are a target for everyone,” Tare said.

“Working for such a historic and prestigious club would be an honour.”
