Sky sources believe the former Ajax and Manchester United gaffer was doomed regardless of their results during his two Bundesliga games in charge

Erik ten Hag’s tenure at Bayer Leverkusen was a particularly short – he was dismissed on September 1 after a 3-3 draw with Werder Bremen.
The Netherlands native set a new Bundesliga record as he became the coach with the fewest league matches in charge before facing the chop.
However, it appears the writing was already on the wall for the 55-year-old, with Sky Germany’s Marlon Irlbacher revealing some new information.
“I heard that they would have sacked Erik ten Hag, even if they had won 5-0 in Bremen; the next or at least the day after that,” he said, on a Sky podcast.
Reports suggest his inability to connect with the squad and clashes with the hierarchy as he attempted to alter the club’s transfer plans caused the rift that signalled the end.
