Liverpool’s summer transfer window was unrivalled in terms of its scale and ambition, yet it is already starting to pay off for Arne Slot’s side, both on and off the field.

The Anfield club have a perfect record this season, which continued in the Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid at Anfield. The Reds have made a habit of winning games late, and they did that again as Virgil van Dijk headed home a late corner.

It was a match notable for the debut of Alexander Isak for his new club. Although the British record signing was unable to trouble the net, his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has leapt since joining Liverpool – a trend that has seen the total value of the new arrivals at Anfield leap to almost €100 million in just a matter of days.

Reds stars all climb in value

Liverpool made six major summer signings, all of whom have seen their transfer value take a sizeable leap.

Even major arrivals such as Isak and Florian Wirtz have seen sizeable gains in their ETVs. The Sweden international has seen the sharpest rise in value, going from €116m at Newcastle to €140m now he is at Liverpool – a jump of €34m.

Name ETV Prior to Signing New ETV Change Change %
Alexander Isak €116m €140m €34m 20.7%
Florian Wirtz €116m €137m €31m 18.1%
Hugo Ekitike €57m €75m €18m 31.2%
Milos Kerkez €47m €70m €23m 48.9%
Jeremie Frimpong €55m €61m €6m 10.9%
Giovanni Leoni €22m €25m €3m 13.6%

Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez have seen similarly big gains. Although Jeremie Frimpong’s rise has been altogether more modest, his new ETV of €61m is well above the bargain €40m fee Liverpool paid for him.

These figures are a vindication of Liverpool’s transfer strategy. Although they paid what appeared above the odds for several of these stars, the instant impact of playing at a club like Liverpool more than offsets this in many cases.

It’s another reason for optimism that the project that Arne Slot set in motion last summer is working smoothly, with sporting director Richard Hughes proving himself to be every bit as savvy an operator behind the scenes.

Interestingly, despite Liverpool’s big spending, Arsenal still have the most valuable squad in the world, coming in just ahead of the Reds.
