Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are the three teams preparing a January bid for Victor Osimhen.

That is according to Il Mattino, who report that all three of the European giants would like to sign a number nine in the January window.

All three are considering Osimhen, who is on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli.

Juventus are desperate for a new striker as they currently only have one fit – and underperforming number nine – in Dusan Vlahovic. This has played a big role in Juventus languishing down in sixth place and struggling to finish in the top four.

PSG also need a top-class number nine if they are to have any hope of challenging the very best teams in Europe, with Luis Enrique’s men struggling to even qualify out of the Champions League group stages currently.

Meanwhile, United are down in 13th place in the Premier League and neither of their striker options in Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have proven up to task.

Il Mattino reports that Napoli would like to sell Osimhen in January in order to fund the signing of three new players to strengthen their Scudetto hopes.

Napoli hope to use the money of Osimhen’s sale to sign Lecce’s Parick Dorgu, Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior and another midfielder, possibly Empoli’s Jacopo Fazzini.

There is a €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract that becomes active in January.

Osimhen is more likely to see out the rest of the season at Galatasaray, who would like to buy him permanently but almost certainly can’t afford to.

Osimhen to Galatasaray on loan

Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan for the season from Napoli until June 2025.

It is a dry loan with Galatasaray simply covering his salary from September until June at a cost of €10 million.

He has enjoyed a fantastic start to the season with Galatasaray, already scoring 10 goals in 13 games.

The attacker had spent the entire summer searching for a new club and sacked his agent when this wasn’t forthcoming.

The 25-year-old had been frozen out of the squad at Napoli, with no chance of being reintegrated under new manager Antonio Conte.

Instead of spending the entire first half of the season training on his own, Osimhen opted to join Galatasaray on loan.

Osimhen saw his relationship with Napoli sour last season, following the TikTok scandal in which the club’s own social media team mocked his penalty miss with Bologna.

Osimhen had a largely difficult season on the pitch, while Napoli endured a disastrous defence of the Scudetto they won in the 2022-23 season as they finished 10th in Serie A.

The Nigerian had been a key player in the Scudetto campaign, scoring 26 league goals in 32 games.
