Real Madrid doing everything to sign Rodri

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has instructed his recruitment staff to do everything possible to bring Rodri to the club, The Transfers Podcast has revealed.

Rodri has three years left on his contract at Manchester City and his employers want to improve his terms to make him one of the best-paid players in line with his performances over the past five seasons.

However, it is expected that Real Madrid will make an attempt to land Rodri in next summer’s transfer window and City are now aware of the LaLiga side’s interest in taking the player.

Manuel Ugarte to Man Utd: All the details

The background to Manchester United’s swoop for Manuel Ugarte has been revealed, with FootballTransfers having exclusively broken the news that a fee had been agreed between the clubs.

PSG have secured a €50 million upfront payment with potentially €10m following in variables. On top of this, the Parisian side have secured a “cheeky” sell-on clause, which will come into effect even if Ugarte signs a new contract with the Red Devils.

Full details of what is described as a “big fight” in the negotiations are revealed on the pod.

Sancho and Sterling swap deal: What’s going on?

What seemed like a fanciful rumour over a potential swap deal involving Man Utd’s Jadon Sancho and Raheem Sterling of Chelsea is genuinely being discussed.

One of the reasons for this is that there are a “very limited” number of potential destinations for Sancho in the Premier League, while the Blues find themselves facing a similar situation with Sterling.

The feeling from both sides is that they might not reduce their wage bill, but at least it would help the finances of both clubs with respect to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules.

A deal actually going through, however, is considered to be “unlikely”.
