Theo Hernandez (AC Milan)

Theo Hernandez’s future at AC Milan is very much in doubt as he has just 18 months left on his contract.

Contract renewal talks are not going well, while Theo’s relationship with manager Paulo Fonseca is not the best.

He has been dropped from the starting XI on occasion and his form when he has played has been under-par this season.

The consensus is that Milan will consider a sale in January if they receive a fee of around €50 million. Man Utd have been linked.

Samuele Ricci (Torino)

Samuele Ricci has broken out this season as one of the most exciting young Italian players in Serie A.

He really came to the public attention during the September 2024 international break when he dominated the midfield in a 3-1 win for Italy over France in Paris.

Ricci is a very press-resistant central midfielder who has clearly outgrown Torino and ready to join a big club.

Manchester City and Liverpool are both very interested in signing him, and while Torino say they will keep him until the end of the season it may be difficult to resist a big offer in January.

Nicolo Fagioli (Juventus)

Nicolo Fagioli has had a very difficult past 18 months. He missed most of last season with a gambling ban, while he has struggled this term.

Despite the odd impressive performance – such as in the Champions League win over Leipzig – Fagioli has largely been a disappointment for an under-performing Juventus team.

He has fallen down the central midfield pecking order and manager Thiago Motta no longer considers him an important player.

Juventus need to sacrifice at least one valuable player in January in order to fund new signings, and the feeling is that Fagioli could be sold.

PSG are reported to be interested in the Italian.

Leonardo Spinazzola (Napoli)

Napoli signed Leonardo Spinazzola during the summer transfer window on a free transfer after his contract at Roma expired.

However, Spinazzola has looked a pale shadow of the once brilliant wing back who lit up Euro 2020 on the way to Italy winning the title.

He has started just three Serie A games and has been penalised by manager Antonio Conte moving from a back three to a back four.

It is likely that Spinazzola will be offloaded in January and be replaced.

Patrick Dorgu (Lecce)

Patrick Dorgu has emerged this season as one of the most wanted youngsters in Serie A.

The 20-year-old Denmark international has been one of the few bright lights in a Lecce team that are fighting against relegation.

Dorgu is a versatile left-footed player who is naturally a left back but can play in any position on the right or left flank – from full back to side midfielder to winger.

He has attracted interest from all of the major Premier League clubs but is most wanted by Napoli.
