Former Arsenal star Theo Walcott believes Bruno Fernandes is becoming a weak link for Manchester United operating from the central midfield department.
The Portugal international has been an incredible servant for the Red Devils and he has made several goal contributions from the number 10 position over the years.
However, he has been playing from central midfield this campaign and this has made him vulnerable. He has been guilty of losing regular possession in the role.
Meanwhile, he has also struggled to create chances and this should be a huge worry for the Red Devils, particularly with another poor start to the top-flight campaign.
Walcott has now highlighted that defending is not the best strength of Fernandes and his lack of defensive awareness has been costing the Red Devils this season.
He said: “It’s hard because defensively it’s not Bruno Fernandes‘ strength. He doesn’t think danger straight away.”
“That’s where you need a different person who can do that side of it. But when you only have one in Ugarte. It’s difficult for him.”
