Thiago Motta makes Koopmeiners decision for Juventus-Verona – Football Italia – March 2 latest

Multiple outlets in Italy are reporting that Teun Koopmeiners will start from the substitutes’ bench for Juventus’s upcoming Serie A match at home to Hellas Verona on Monday evening.

The Dutchman has been a mainstay in Thiago Motta’s starting XI, particularly in Serie A. He has not been left out of the starting line-up in the league since October 30, in a 2-2 draw against Parma when he was marking his return from a fractured rib. 

Koopmeiners has only started one other Serie A match from the bench this season, in the 0-0 draw with Roma on September 1, his first league outing with the Bianconeri. 

With minutes starting to catch up with him, La Gazzetta dello Sport and others report that the former Atalanta midfielder will start from the bench against Verona, making way for a midfield pairing of Manuel Locatelli and Khephren Thuram. 

The Old Lady will have one more training session on Sunday before taking on Verona at the Allianz Stadium at 19.45 on Monday night. 

A victory for Juve will put them within three points of Atalanta in third place, and six off Inter at the top of the Serie A table.
