This is how the Champions League group stage standings look.The last 18 matches were played tonight in an exciting evening from which the eight teams that go directly to the round of 16 and the other 16 that will have to play the playoff or round of 32 have already emerged.

Real Madrid will face Manchester City or Celtic in the round of 16 and in a hypothetical round of 16 tie could face Atletico Madrid or Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen.Barcelona finished second after drawing at home to Atalanta and their round of 16 opponents will be one of these four: PSG, Benfica, Monaco or Brest. There would be no Clasico, at least, until the semi-finals.
