Thomas Müller interviewed ahead of final home game for Bayern

Thomas Müller was interviewed ahead of his final home game for Bayern Munich.

As he prepares to lift his thirteenth Meisterschale into the sky on Saturday, Thomas Müller spoke to Bayern’s cameras about the occasion.

“The numbers are all well and good, but you still experience each title win individually. You focus on the current season, on that one season; you’re working towards it; that’s the league table that counts.

“Whether you were champion three years ago or not is of no interest to anyone anymore. In the Bundesliga, it’s all about the title that concerns you most over the course of the year and also influences the atmosphere the most – both internally and externally.

“Every week there’s a game that’s being discussed all over Germany, up and down the pitch. That’s why I really, really like the Bundesliga title. I appreciate the difficulty of the competition.

“It’s one thing to be good. But when you repeatedly prevail against opponents who try to beat you every year, that’s an achievement that has always appealed to me.

“That’s why, after last year, it’s all the more gratifying that we managed to become champions again,” he added.
