Malik Tillman isn’t surprised that Bayern Munich chose not to activate their buyback option, allowing him to join Bayer Leverkusen.

On Saturday, Malik Tillman completed his €35 million move from PSV to Bayer Leverkusen, signing a five-year deal with Die Werkself.

Bayern Munich had the chance to activate a buyback clause and sign their former player ahead of Leverkusen, but they chose not to a decision that didn’t surprise Tillman.

“No, I’m not really surprised,” Tillman said, according to Bild.

“It was up to them. They have great players. They had the opportunity, but didn’t take it. It didn’t really bother me.”

Tillman previously admitted that returning to Bayern was a big dream of his, but now he will represent a different club in Germany.
