Tommy Doyle insists Wolves players ARE fighting for boss Gary O’Neil as search for first win continues after dramatic comeback to draw with Brighton

Tommy Doyle insists that Wolves‘ dramatic late comeback at Brighton is proof that the players are fighting for boss Gary O’Neil who remains without a Premier League win this season.

Wolves look dead and buried as they trailed 2-0 on 85 minutes at the Amex but Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha rescued the unlikeliest of points and Doyle believes that the first three points are just around the corner. 

He said: ‘He (O’Neil) has the same feelings as we have had. We’re all trying to get out of the situation we’re in but in football, whatever happens it all comes down to the gaffer. But we’re trying to take responsibility as well.

‘At 2-0 down it’s obviously difficult but we were still in the game, still had faith and stuck to what we were doing and had worked on in the week. 

‘To come out with a point with what has happened this season is a step in the right direction. Now we’ve got to turn that into three points.’

No team has had a tougher start than Wolves this season but consecutive home games against Crystal Palace and Southampton ahead of the international break gives O’Neil the chance to make his position a little more secure and claim that elusive first win.
