Reactions after Frankfurt’s 2-1 victory over Ajax Amsterdam in the Europa League.

Dino Toppmöller (coach of Eintracht Frankfurt):

“We played a strong 1st half and showed a great reaction to a tough start into the game. The equalizer was deserved – as was the goal to put us in front.”

“I think the intense 1st half of the game made for a slower 2nd half. We all have great respect for Ajax and they showed it to us, too. The players also have in mind that this is only the 1st of two legs, that most likely explains the calm 2nd half of the game.”

“In the end it’s a deserved victory for us after a tough battle here.”
