A changing of the guard at Eintracht Frankfurt for the new season.
Dino Toppmöller elected Robin Koch as his new captain, with Kevin Trapp in the process of completing his move to Paris FC. The former PSG goalkeeper will return to France and Paris for a transfer fee of €1 million.
In addition to replacing the former German international with Michael Zetterer, Frankfurt also had to find a new captain. Toppmöller acted quickly to pass the armband to one of the most established names in the squad.
Since joining Frankfurt on an initial loan deal from Leeds United in 2023, the Nationalmannschaft player has featured in 85 games for the Eagles. With the departure of Tuta and Arthur Theate’s suspension, Toppmöller ditched the back-three system today in Engers as Nnamdi Collins is playing center-back alongside the new skipper.
